My hopes & dreams (& carefully curated intentions)
I love stuff. And by stuff, I mean content. I love being given new things to consume. Life can be boring so it’s safe to say if wasn’t for others making the conscious decision to express themselves, my brain would probably be a pile of mush. Cute, pink, underwhelmed mush. Fortunately, there’s a fair share of beauty to this world and that stuff is just a part of it.
I’m a simple gal. It doesn’t take much for me to appreciate something. Typically, if I can see any sort of effort being put into a product, I consider it of value in some way. It’s too easy to throw things in a worthless “can you not” pile just because it’s not up to par with the content you already deem respectable or “underrated”. Listen. Finding value in something new and different doesn’t diminish the quality of what you’re used to. We are humans, we can evolve. Not on a Pokemon level, unfortunately… unless. No, let’s not go there. Too many threads of thought. I’M JUST SAYING: Open your brain and let some fresh air in. It ain’t gonna hurt you.
Back to me being simple, I wanna say that’s just about as simple as it gets.
I have hopes and dreams.
And now more than ever, I wear them stitched to my sleeve. Better yet, engraved on my skin (literally). I’ve come to a “get going or get left behind” realization in the last year, not by my own will but by God’s. None of this is about me anymore. And by “me” I mean the worst parts of me. The self-doubt, insecurities, fear of judgment or “instability". I put INSTABILITY in quotations because that seems to mean a lot of different things to different people (and I just love quotation marks). I’m probably making a ton of grammatical errors and I’m telling you that RIGHT NOW, at this moment in time, I do not care. However, hopefully… that will change in the future-ish.
I’m figuring this stuff all out as I go but hopefully someone somewhere can gain knowledge from this dedicated blog associated with my music project. I’m very set on using the label “music project” because in case you didn’t know, I do the following things: produce, compose, write lyrics, sing, mix (& master?), and pretty much engineer for Do What You Will. I don’t know what those roles will look like in the future but for now, I am very satisfied with the variety of things I get to do. I’m grateful to have gained the skills to be able to self-produce my own ideas and creative vision.
Thanks again to my Insta peeps! Mainly for helping me to get this ball rolling. If y’all have any specific topics you’re interested in me writing about, drop me a comment. Also, let me know what kind of skills or even naturally possessed talents you have that you’re grateful for and why! Would love to hear from you. :)
